Help
Resources: These are just some which I’ve come across on my surfing adventures – they are not endorsed by me, and there are many more out there. This page is still being written, but I didn’t want anyone who’d found this blog looking for help, to have to search on without getting any information at all. If you are perching on the recovery fence, not sure whether to give it a shot or not, you could have a read of this post: “Why The Big Weight?”. And if you want to know what it was like for me the first time I asked for help, try this post “Nothing is as expensive as a Start”

There are loads of ways to get help, you can escape the place you are in. I went to my GP in the first instance. I’m not sure how it works for people outside of the UK, but I assume you have a regular doctor who you’d go to with a minor everyday affliction? Start there, and they can point you in the right direction. If you are looking for your own therapist, try reading this helpful series of posts from CBTish, or have a look at this leaflet explaining talking therapies.
